Freida Pinto was in LA to host a Flaunt Magazine event wearing a Contrarian New York red and black ensemble. Her outfit, which consisted of a red sateen flare skirt and a black sleeveless top, caught attention for its white bow accent on the neckline.
I'm not liking this one on Freida because: 1) the colors don't complement well with her complexion and 2) the shiny red fabric just doesn't seem to work. What do you think?
The bow isn't so bad, but the look as a whole seems a little confused. It would've been better if the top and bottom were of the same color so that the bow accent gets highlighted well. To prove my point, here's a dress that makes great use of the accent:
This is a form-fitting satin dress that has a scoop neckline and a semi-cinched waist. The large cream-colored bow accent on the waist is perfectly highlighted since the dress is all black. It's also versatile--you can wear it during the day at work (power dressing at its finest) or at night (for some after-work cocktails or a company event).
