Model-turned-host Alexa Chung looked charming on the black carpet at the 80th anniversary party of Chanel Fine Jewelry in NYC last Saturday. Alexa joined other stylish stars as Diane Kruger and Blake Lively to celebrate the anniversary of Mademoiselle Chanel's creation, 'Bijoux Die Diamants.'

And because it's a Chanel event, it's only proper to wear Chanel. Miss Chung traipsed on the black carpet in a cream-colored Chanel Resort 2013 knee-length dress with delicate floral embroidery details. 

I love the dress for its nostalgic retro feel (think: "The Virgin Suicides"). I would've loved her entire look if not for her hair. In my opinion, the messed-up look she did to her hair wasn't appropriate to such a sophisticated event.
